UkraineFest Returns to Swindon as one of the UK’s largest Ukrainian Festivals

UkraineFest 2025 is a free cultural festival taking place in Town Gardens, Old Town, Swindon on Saturday 23rd August. As one of the UK’s largest Ukrainian-themed events, it brings together families, food lovers, music fans and supporters of Ukraine for a full day of live performances, traditional food, craft stalls, and activities for all ages. Organised by Swindon Welcomes Ukraine with support from Swindon Borough Council’s Warm Welcome team, the event celebrates Ukraine’s rich heritage and coincides with Ukrainian Independence Day weekend. Whether you’re exploring Ukrainian culture for the first time or part of Swindon’s growing Ukrainian community, UkraineFest 2025 is a welcoming, vibrant and meaningful event for all.

Swindon Ukrainian Community "Putting Down Roots" on Second Anniversary of Ukraine War

Over 400 Ukrainians have now settled in Swindon since the start of the war in Ukraine, thanks to the Homes for Ukraine scheme. A support group, ‘Swindon Welcomes Ukraine’, was created by volunteers to support that new community. Their projects have ranged from organising extra English classes to helping Ukrainians find jobs, and they are now opening a Ukrainian community garden so that they can grow their own produce.

Ukrainian mother brings her classical concert from London to Old Town

Ukrainian mother of two, Kseniia Iaremych (pictured right) who came over to Swindon as part of the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, is bringing a classical concert she first premiered in London, to Old Town in Swindon. Kseniia has joined forces with 'Swindon Welcomes Ukraine' through their Chair Sofiia Volovyk (pictured left), to bring professional Ukrainian and European musicians together for a night of spectacular performances on Saturday 10th December
